Membership is open to all age groups and is broken up into four categories:

Flying Membership

A Flying Membership of the SRGC entitles the member to all phases of the instruction and access to fly the club aircraft according to the ratings held.

Junior Membership

Junior Membership is open to pilots or training pilots under the age of 18. It entitles the member to all phases of the instruction and access to fly the club aircraft according to the ratings held.

Affiliate Membership

(no voting rights)

Temporary Membership.

This is a membership for those only requiring a limited membership duration. Temp memberships are worked out pro-rata dependant of the time frame required. (no voting rights)

GFA Membership

Glider pilots do not require a licence to fly in Australia but they must be a member of a club affiliated to the Gliding Federation of Australia (GFA) to legally fly or receive instruction in a glider in Australia. The government has delegated the responsibility for the administration of gliding to the GFA. The club arranges GFA membership for Provisional Members.

Membership includes a subscription to Soaring Australia - the GFA's magazine and a broad based liability insurance premium. GFA membership is payable pro. rata to the 30th September.

Tocumwal

During the Second World War the town was the site of Royal Australian Air Force Station Tocumwal, which was a major Royal Australian Air Force training airfield and aircraft depot. Today, the airfield has grown to be a renowned gliding site .
