Greetings and Welcome to our second edition of the Southern Riverina Gliding Club inc. E News January 19, 2010.

This past week we had a visit from the Bathurst Gliding Club as they made thier way to Waikerie in South Australia.  The weather unfortunately has not been kind to them but they arrived on Sunday afternoon and were greeted by our own club members who assisted them upon arrival before heading off to their booked accommodation at the Early Settlers Motel, Tocumwal where we all met and shared a BBQ meal and a few quiet drinks together.  A great evening was had by all.   The plan was that they would spend the next day gliding here at Tocumwal before recommencing their journey, however the weather was again not kind.

Many thanks go to all those who assisted with the preparation and cooking of the meal.   Special thanks go to Marg and Geoff Gowty proprietors of the Early Settlers Motel for allowing us to use the wonderful entertaining area for our evening.

FLIGHTS:

During the last week there has been a total of eight flights made in both the club gliders, IUH (IS28) and GES (ASW15).
These included several training flights which is always great to see happening because that means that soon there will be another glider pilot or two going solo.   It was also great to see Dieter flying once again this week.

This week we saw another four new members joining the Southern Riverina Gliding Club inc.
Please make welcome New Flying Members, Steve Hobby and Phil Henderson.  We hope that they both enjoy there time flying with us.   We also welcome New Associate Members Eve and Kevin Saunders from Cobram.
