Greetings All and Welcome to Edition 3 of the Southern Riverina Gliding Club Inc. E-News, January 27, 2010

Another busy weekend was held in Tocumwal with the arrival of our new towplane VH- ROZ.  Ferry pilot Ron Jackson arrived in Tocumwal with Roz Saturday and was then transported to his hometown of Bendigo by Vice President, Donald Ashton.  Roz will be moved over to Tim Becroft's hanger for a further inspection and fitting of the towhook kindly donated by him later this week.

FLIGHTS:

During the last week we had more flying done by members of the Bathurst Gliding Club who decided to stay in Tocumwal and not continue on to Waikerie as they had originally planned before moving on to Benalla to do some more gliding. Friday saw Bob Brodie join us again flying in his own glider and new member Mark undertaking some training flights together with Lothar Arndt instructing in the IS28.
Saturday Lothar again flew with Mark.  Donald flew with Ingo in the IS28 and then flew his glider GXP later in the afternoon.  Neil McRury also flew with Lothar in the IS28.

On Sunday Bernie Sizer flew the ASW15 for a nice flight of 5 hours and 11 minutes,  Mike Toth flew in the IS28 and Mark flew some more training flights with Ingo Renner in the IS28.

Australia Day saw some more flying done by Mark and Ingo in the IS28,  Ross Oehms flew in the ASW15 and Donald flew in his glider GXP.

EVENING MEAL & BREAKFAST:

Saturday night was spent sharing in a hearty meal of chicken and salads together with a few quiet drinks at the hanger together with our newest member Mark Hunt.  Welcome Mark we hope you enjoy many happy hours of gliding here with us.

Sunday morning saw Mike and Gloria Burns, Judy and Ingo Renner, Donald Ashton and Kim Allen partake of a wonderful and tasty breakfast at the Tocumwal Pavillion, in celebration of our first year of gliding as the Southern Riverina Gliding Club, a milestone none the less and we look forward to many more years of celebrations to come.
